Sara is a licensed mental health counselor and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist - Supervisor who provides clinical supervision at Collaborative Counseling & Nutrition. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from The University of Michigan in 2003 and her Master of Science degree in General Clinical Psychology from Eastern Michigan University in 2005.

She began her career in the field of eating disorders in 2005 as a residential counselor at Lotus House, a residential treatment facility for those with eating disorders. In 2006, she became a therapist at Selah House, which continues to thrive as an inpatient treatment facility for those with eating disorders and is located in Anderson, Indiana. At Selah House, she treated outpatients, led and co-led several Intensive Outpatient Programs, participated in and facilitated residential groups, and led the Residential Aftercare Program. In 2008, she began working at Center for Hope and Family Solutions as an outpatient therapist specializing in eating disorders, where she continued to work for six years.

In 2010, she became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Indiana and was given the designation of Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS) by the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP). The CEDS designation is granted to those who have exhibited expertise in the field of eating disorders and have achieved high levels of experience and education in this area.

In 2020, Sara became a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist - Supervisor (CEDS-S), which means she is qualified to supervise other treatment providers who want to specialize in the field of eating disorders and become credentialed by IAEDP.

Sara is passionate about helping people with eating disorders during their journey to recovery, and she opened Mindful Me in 2014 in order to provide much-needed specialized treatment services for this population. In 2021, Mindful Me and Renovate Your Plate merged to create Collaborative Counseling & Nutrition. She lives in Carmel, Indiana with her husband and two children.
