Wren Buse, MT-BC

Music Therapist | they/them

Wren is a board-certified music therapist from Santa Cruz, California. While studying music therapy at the University of the Pacific, Wren spent their summers in the mountains as the music director at a camp for individuals with disabilities of all ages.

Upon graduating, Wren completed their clinical internship at a community mental health organization supporting individuals across the lifespan.  Alongside their groups supporting LGBTQ+ youth and individuals with PTSD, Wren developed and implemented a music therapy support group for individuals living in larger bodies centering fat liberation and community.

Wren moved to Indianapolis to work with individuals with disabilities receiving services through the Medicaid waiver system.  Wren is passionate about disability justice and supporting individuals to identify goals which are meaningful to creating the life they want.

Alongside their education and clinical training, Wren’s lived experiences as a neurodivergent, fat, queer, non-binary person inform their work as a music therapist.  Music therapy with Wren is an identity-affirming space where curiosity and self-exploration are encouraged, and where music is used as a tool for personal growth, healing, and community.

During Wren’s free time, you can find them with their dog Henry, strumming on their guitar, and playing games on their Nintendo Switch.  Wren is also an avid knitter and crocheter and is building a wardrobe of self-made clothing.
